My inspiration for this collection was the festivals in Japan that I would go to in the summer. I intended to capture the playfulness and luminosity of the event through the motifs and elements that would catch my eye as a child.

CORAL COLLECTION

This collection focuses on the decay of coral reefs in our oceans as a result of climate change. Growing up in Hawaii and visiting the oceans of Okinawa, Japan, the reality of the coral bleaching events became very closely tied to my own life and experience of growth. Through these patterns and applications, I aim to create a line of sustainability-focused swimwear and beach cover-ups that demonstrate the decay of the reefs while also beautifying and celebrating the locals of Hawaii, serving both to empower and to educate those who wear it.
